Their Eyes Are Always Judging is a visceral testament to the gaze not just the one casted by others, but the ever-watching, ever-weighing eyes of the self. Surrounded by a sea of stylized eyes, two spectral figures float in a crimson void, each adorned with a third eye, each daring to be seen. The painting captures a raw emotional moment of awakening for the artist, a visual realization of how perception, judgment, and identity tangle into a complex knot of truth and distortion. 

This work was a milestone of self-awareness for Messiah, a moment of internal clarity made eternal in oil. It pulses with vulnerability, power, and the fierce need to be seen on one’s own terms.
